Sony has announced how the Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus members in the U.S. will change over the next month, and while it doesn't seem quite as good as the selection available in the EU (we get free copies of Okami HD and Thomas Was Alone) it's definitely worth a look. These are the five games that PlayStation Plus members in the U.S. will be able to download for free during April:
The big sell is obviously Demon's Souls, the spiritual predecessor to the infamously difficult Dark Souls. This game is just as hard as the one that came afterwards, and is also pretty similar in style, so if you loved Dark Souls and haven't played this one yet, now's a good chance.
The next game Sony has highlighted for the Instant Game Collection proves my point about the lacklustre lineup when you compare it with what we get in the EU: SOULCALIBUR: Broken Destiny. This might be incredibly fun to play, but it's a PSP game. Sure, you can play it on your Vita, but it's hardly something to shout about.
Then we get Malicious, which is a pretty PSN game for the PS3. It's an action game in which you take out swarms of creatures known collectively as the Malicious. You play can play the stages in any order, and each will be harder depending on how many you've completed before, so there's a tactical element involved.
Labyrinth Legends is another PS3 PSN title, a quirky puzzle game in which you explore dungeons fighting off monsters and collecting treasure. It has several multiplayer modes too.
Finally, Zombie Tycoon 2 is a cross-buy and cross-play PSN title for both PS3 and Vita that pits slow zombies against fast zombies.
So, is it worth having PlayStation Plus this month?
