Puppeteer Gets a New Trailer and Release Date

April 2, 2013 by Stephen Daly

The Japan Studios game is coming September 10th for $39.99.

Puppeteer, revealed at gamescom last year, will be launched on September 30th for $39.99 it has been announced on the PlayStation Blog which has also posted a new trailer.

The trailer exposes some more details for the game's story and tell us that the Little Bear stole two powerful artefacts from the Moon Goddess, using these devices Little Bear attacked the Goddess' castle, trapping her. Little Bear then declares himself king and captures the souls of children, turning them into wooden puppets. Kutaro, the latest victim, is the game's hero who must challenge the Little Bear's 12 generals before finally facing the king.

Kutaro has one very noticable feature, he was no head, a result of the transformation process. He can find and use the heads of others he finds on his adventure.

Writing on the blog Sony Worldwide Studios art director Gavin Moore said "As Kutaro, you'll find all sorts of amazing heads to act as your noggin as you journey to get your head back from the Moon Bear King. Be careful to collect and keep the right ones, as some have the power to change and shape the world around you, while others unlock bonus stages – adding even more adventure and hilarity to this dark and fantastical tale!

"At GDC we officially unveiled the first two Moon Heroes and their powers; the Shield Power of the Moon Knight, and the Bomb Power of the Moon Ninja! When Kutaro collects these Hero Heads, it adds some truly transformative mechanics to Puppeteer, which you won't see coming!" Moore added.

Sony have also released the game's final box art.
