James Russell, the lead game designer of the Total War series at Creative Assembly has announced on Twitter that he plans to talk about an all new Total War title at GDC tomorrow.
The game is apparently not Rome 2 and it's one that is "like nothing we've done before," wrote Russell on his Twitter account.
His GDC talk focuses on strategy games and is titled "Designing Grand Strategy: Making The Mechanics of Total War". According to the developer, the talk will offer a unique insight into the creative dilemmas faced by the team at Creative Assembly when designing their titles. Williams plans to provide attendees with an understanding of the design challenges, along with stimulus and inspiration for approaching game design problems. He'l go over some ideas and techniques for avoiding certain design pitfalls he and his team at CA personally faced.
It's hard to tell what their next game will be, but we suspect it has something to do with Creative Assembly's newly acquired Warhammer license and not a game based on a historical setting.
