If you’re someone who’d thought about picking up Deus Ex: Human Revolution but were waiting until the developers added a heap of new features and updates to it, specifically taking advantage of a platform they couldn’t have conceived existing at the time, you’re very unique and you should take pride in that.
You were also right to hold off, because Deus Ex: Human Revolution is getting a Wii U version and it promises to offer much more than a simple port-over.
Most importantly the bosses are being fixed. Complaints were leveled against the game that, while the rest of the experience could be moulded in ways that conformed to the player’s own interests, boss fights were very combat focused and extremely difficult if you weren’t specced in the right way.
The maps are now changed to give you a better ability to hide and hacking sections have been added, so the sections will now suit how you’ll have been playing beforehand.
You still need to kill them at the end, though, which was pretty much un-fixable without rewriting the story.
The energy system has also been reworked, giving players access to two recharging blips that controlled their augmentations when before they only had one. It limited the amount of activities they could do with their upgrades and incentivised their use much less.
Also included are:
- Graphical improvements
- The ability to play the hacking mini-game on the touchpad
- New moves that take advantage of the screen
- Developer Commentary
That’s a pretty great selection of extras! Now to find people that haven’t played the game and own a Wii U!
