Deep Silver and 4A Games have released a new trailer for Metro: Last Light which showcases the game's setting and rich backstory. The game was previously set to be published by THQ but has since been picked up by Deep Silver for publication. Developed as a first person shooter and sequel to Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light is based upon the bestselling novel "Metro 2033" by Dmitry Glukhovsky and differs greatly from the author's novel, Metro 2034.
Set against the backdrop of a Russian post-apocalyptic scenario in the 21st century, the new trailer shows how some of its survivors have banded together to form organizations based on pre-apocalypse factions like the Nazis and Communists. These organizations fight amongst themselves in an effort to take control over the ruins of Moscow.
Others, like the Rangers, reject these organizations and prefer instead to determine their own destinies free from brutal ideologies.
The game is set for release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this summer.
