Need For Speed Payback hasn’t been the best game in the series (in fact, it’s actually been hailed as one of the worst) and it seems its sales have been indicative of this. VGChartz Global Weekly Chart for the week ending November 1 have estimated that Need For Speed Payback has allegedly sold 462,431 units the first week at retail.
Breaking down the sales by platform, the game sold best on the PlayStation 4 with 349,945 units sold (76%), compared to 106,066 units sold on the Xbox One (23%) and 6,420 units sold on Windows PC (1%).
When comparing sales to the last Need for Speed we can see that the estimates are down. 2015’s Need for Speed sold 672,043 units in its first week. Perhaps the holiday season yielded better results for the title? Let’s hope so.
In other Need For Speed Payback news, the racing title is set to receive an online free roam mode.
‘EA’s Need For Speed Payback has been confirmed to receive an online free roam mode. Previously, the mode was only available to those waiting for a lobby to fill up. However, with the new implementation, you’ll have the freedom to roam the streets of Fortune Valley, with friends, meet new people and do lots of damage to your virtual car.’
