Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Update Goes Live on Xbox 360

March 12, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

The popular first person shooter gets a humongous update ahead of the release of End Game.

BF3

Battlefield 3 is set for the release of a major expansion this week called End Game, which sees the addition of new gameplay modes, maps, and vehicles. The DLC is available as a part of Battlefield 3's premium subscription, and is also purchaseable separately.

The expansion will contain new Capture the Flag mode, which has players racing across the map with the enemy flag; as well as a new Air Superiority mode, featuring heavy use of warplanes. Both modes will be playable on a series of new, oversized maps.

In anticipation of its release, EA has released a whopping 1.92gb update for players on the Xbox 360 to prepare them for the End Game.

The patch, which is dubbed "Multiplayer Update 6" includes a large-ish list of patch notes and contains numerous improvements to the game's multiplayer mode. You'll have to download it to find out what it contains, however.

If you're on the Xbox 360, you can grab the update for free from the Xbox marketplace.
