It can difficult to get excited about a game that's been out for over a year, but BioWare's counting on rekindling player excitement for Mass Effect 3 with the release of their latest DLC. Titled Citadel, the content in the DLC is set to take place sometime in the middle of the game, with events that play out all the way to the end.
The DLC is by far the biggest one BioWare's ever worked on for Mass Effect 3 and contains a host of content that range from leisurely activities aboard the Citadel station and adventures not unlike the ones players went on in Leviathan and From Ashes.
Without saying too much about what it contains, Citadel will allow players to rekindle their old flames with characters like Jack and Miranda from Mass Effect 2, and go on an adventure with their squad plus Urdnot Wrex. In fact, your entire squad gets together, and a portion of the game's epic new mission can be seen in the trailer below, which the studio just released.
It's like the second coming of Mass Effect 2's suicide mission, and it may just be what the series needs to get its fans back. It may not change the outcome of the ending, but it may certainly prove that BioWare has what it takes to make a compelling role-playing experience.
