Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 hit the PlayStation 3 way back in 2009, and since then, it’s remained a much more popular game than the much newer Ninja Gaiden 3. The game itself was an enhanced version of Ninja Gaiden 2 for the Xbox 360.
The new version, titled Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, comes out for the PlayStation Vita handheld console with all of the goodies from Sigma 2 and some new key features including a race-against-the-clock mode called Ninja Race, more selectable characters, and a partner-swapping Tag Mode that allows you to switch characters on the fly.
As the original game was criticized for being tough as nails, the new game comes with a “Hero Mode” that serves as an easy mode for beginners who just want to enjoy the story.
The game’s release trailer can be seen below, and it showcases all the features I just wrote about.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is out today in North America and is set for release in Europe on March 1. Japanese gamers can pick it up on the 28th this month.
