Tomb Raider is a week out from release, and the reviews of the game are already pouring in. Tomb Raider is designed as a reboot of the entire Tomb Raider franchise from the ground up, and sees Lara Croft not as a veteran explorer and treasure hunter but a young woman forced into her role as a survivor due to dire circumstances.
After being shipwrecked on an isolated tropical island, Lara must make her mark by surviving the wilderness and find other survivors from the ship. She’s forced to harden herself against violence after she encounters a group of mercenaries who enslave her friends and colleagues.
Needless to say, the game tells a much more harrowing tale than any of Lara’s previous adventures.
The early word is out, and the game is seeing a raft of stellar reviews praising the game for its story and gameplay. Here’s what everyone is saying:
