We’ve been informed by the Pokemon Company today that owners of Pokemon Black 2, Pokemon White 2, and the original Pokemon Black and White will have a chance to pick up the Mythical Melody Pokémon Meloetta for three weeks, starting Monday, March 4. Owners of the games can head on over to their local GameStop outlet to unlock and add the rare Meloetta to their Pokedex. The event will also run in Canada starting March 9 at EB Games stores.
Like previous distributions of rare pokemon, the event will be available for a limited time only, so be sure to pick it up when you have the chance to do so.
In anticipation of the event, the company has released a special video (which you can see below) of Meloetta in battle, along with comprehensive details on the stats and capabilities of the character.
Meloetta is described as a “rare and powerful Melody Pokémon that keeps opponents on their toes with its one-of-a-kind ability to alter Formes in the middle of battle.” Players who pick up the pokemon will receive Meloetta at level 50 in its Aria Forme, which fights as both a Normal- and Psychic-type pokemon. During battle, Melotta can switch over to its Pirouette Forme and become a Normal- and Fighting- type character. The company tells us that its the first ever character with that combination.
To unlock the character, you’ll have to own a Nintendo DS or 3DS system, the Pokedex within one of the games, and have no more than 11 Wonder Cards in your possession.
