Sucker Punch, developers of the original Sly Cooper games, has revealed through Twitter that a trailer published during Playstation Meeting 2013 was comprised of real gameplay footage.
“What did you think most of that was… we just used different camera to make it more cinematic,” read the tweet, coming from Sucker Punch themselves.
This came as a shock to many, as the trailer looked almost completely made of CGI. While we do know that Unreal Engine 4 will be making its way to the Playstation 4, it comes as a surprise to many just how powerful the system actually is.
In Second Son, you’ll play as Delsin Rowe, who describes himself as something of an underachiever. Interestingly enough – and in stark contrast to Cole McGrath’s, who is the hero from previous games in the series – Rowe’s powers revolve around smoke. That doesn’t sound particularly amazing or satisfying, but the trailer depicts and action-filled game and generally Sucker Punch doesn’t disappoint.
Sucker Punch has since talked a bit more about the gameplay, namely the trademark good and evil choices from the inFamous series. Producer Brian Fleming says that, “"As with all games in this series," said producer Brian Fleming, "the path the gameplay and story take will depend on the decisions you make along the way.”
The game currently has no release date, but judging by how it looks and the fact Sony needs a strong lineup for the Playstation 4’s release, we’re expecting that it’ll somehow hit shelves by this holiday season – or shortly after.
