Far Cry 3 is a good video game! You might have played it! If I said “the developers have done very minor things to improve upon already great existing content” you’d probably be happy with that, right?
I did say that, just then, because they have!
After listening to feedback from the community the team have added new features. Chiefly, the ability to reset the game’s re-supply and fast-travel outposts.
Once the player’s done with the game and has captured all the outposts they’re able to select “Reset Outposts” in the game’s settings. This reverts them backto the start of the game, meaning that enemies will respawn around the map, you’ll be able to capture them again and incomplete side missions/quests are hidden until the outposts are cleared the second time.
They’ve also added:
- Master Difficulty
It’s a tougher version of the game with stronger enemies!
- Feedback on User-Created Maps
You can use “feedback tags” to tell creators if their map is good or not!
- Beta Testing For User-Created Maps
Previously a map maker would build their map and send it out, now they can put it in a beta form to hear commentary from users before fully releasing it.
- Author Search Functionality in Custom Maps
Like a map? See what else they made!
- Scalable Idle-Kick Time in Custom Games
It makes sense for there to be a specific hard time that a player can be idle for in ranked matches, but in custom it’s now down for players to decide.
- Improved “Skip Map” Voting System
There was a rudimentary system before but now the game displays information better and the time to cast a vote has been extended.
