Aksys, a publisher that has been known to take more than a few risks, has something else that's just as niche and esoteric as the recently released Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward in their pipeline. Though Sweet Fuse: At Your Side is already the front running contender for wackiest game premise of this year.
According to Kotaku, you assume the role of Saki Inafune, niece of the legendary game developer Keiji Inafune, best known for Mega Man. It would appear that, since quitting Capcom, he has spent his time constructing a theme park, and you've been invited to enjoy the opening day ceremonies.
Unfortunately, there's a party crasher in the form of Count Hogstein, who blows up the ferris wheel and takes the park's staff hostage. He then forces Saki, along with others, to play his sick and twisted games for amusement, otherwise he'll blow the entire place up.
By the way, Saki will have work alongside a colorful cast of characters to help save her uncle, his staff, and his park… who all conveniently enough are cute dudes!
The existence of Sweet Fuse has been known for some time now, as long a year ago. As was most of the premise, that being a hapless girl who is forced to defuse bombs in an amusement park that has been taken control by a madman. It's Keiji Inafune inserting himself into the proceedings that's the real surprise.
Then again, given his guest appearance in Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, it's perhaps hardly a shocker after-all. Sweet Fuse: At Your Side will be released in the States later this summer, for the PSP.
