Obsidan Entertainment, the developer behind Fallout: New Vegas hopes to work with Bethesda again on a possible Fallout: New Vegas 2, according to Rock, Paper Shotgun.
CEO Feargus Urquhart spoke to the website during DICE, and mentioned that he would love to take a crack at a new title, and that he even has a few ideas in mind. A second Las Vegas game is definitely a possibility. Maybe even a Fallout: L.A.?
"We’d keep it on the West Coast, because we’re West Coast people," Urquhart said. "It’d probably be The Boneyard, which is from Fallout 1. It could be very different. It could be almost a Walking Dead meets Fallout-like thing because of all the radiation.”
A new Obsidian RPG can definitely be a possibility for the future, especially since Urquhart states that Obsidian and Bethesda are on good terms and chat all of hte time.
This comes at a very interesting time in the video game industry. The big consoles are in transition, and while nothing is set in stone yet concerning new specs or what the new generation will bring to video games in general. Urquhart acknowledges this debate, and creating a new RPG would definitely fill the void left by social and mobile games.
The love and critical acclaim of the Fallout franchise in general would also be encouraging for Bethesda to invest in a new installment, and I'm sure nobody would be complaining about that, especially with the throwback to the first game in a possible title.
