There may be a slight chance that EA is revisiting the RTS genre following an employees reinstatement. Veteran strategy game designer Greg Black, finds himself back at the EA offices after spending the last 9 years at Blizzard working on StarCraft II. Previously Black worked at EA developing titles such asRed Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge, Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle-Earth II, Command & Conquer 3, he left shortly after the completion of Red Alert 3 in 2008.
So, could his reinstatement mean something a little bit more than rekindling an old flame? Perhaps!
Survived my first day back at @EA
It's a weird feeling being back after all this time. Can't wait to show you all what I'm working on. 😎

The last time EA was involved in developing strategy titles, we got ourselves a brief glimpse at Command and Conquer: Generals 2 whereby the publisher and studio released it free-to-play online – there, it subsequently fell apart. At the time a statement was released saying “We believe that Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with huge potential and a great history, and we are determined to get the best game made as soon as possible. To that end, we have already begun looking at a number of alternatives to get the game back on track.”
Thoughts on a new C&C title? It’s been a long time coming, we can only play so much Red Alert 2!
