The Unfinished Swan Nabs Top Spot for January’s PSN Top Seller List

February 7, 2013 by Alex Co

Here are the top-selling PS3 and PSN games on PSN for the first month of 2013.

Sony has announced the first month of 2013's top-sellers on the PSN and The Unfinished Swan manages to nab the top spot!

Developed by Giant Sparrow, The Unfinished Swan is a first-person painting game where you play as "Monroe, a 10-year-old orphan, you'll follow a swan that's stepped out of an unfinished painting and wandered off into a surreal, storybook-inspired kingdom. Each chapter brings surprises, new ways to explore the world, a host of bizarre (and sometimes dangerous) creatures, and encounters with the eccentric king who built this empire. "

Rounding out the top 20 are games such as Factor 5's Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Tokyo Jungle and Ubisoft's surprisingly excellent shooter, Far Cry 3.

Here's the complete list:

  1. The Unfinished Swan

  2. LittleBigPlanet Karting

  3. Earthworm Jim HD

  4. Journey

  5. Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

  6. Dungeon Hunter: Alliance

  7. TOKYO JUNGLE

  8. Machinarium

  9. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

  10. Ratchet & Clank

  11. The House of the Dead: OVERKILL Extended Cut

  12. Mass Effect

  13. Warp

  14. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

  15. NiGHTS into dreams…

  16. Modern Combat: Domination

  17. Jet Set Radio

  18. Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds Complete Collection

  19. Far Cry 3

  20. Grand Theft Auto IV

For the top 5 PS add-ons, it's no surprise that Treyarch's Black Ops 2 Season Pass is sitting atop the mountain, while Borderlands 2's Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is at second place.

To be honest, I'm surprised that The Unfinished Swan , LittleBigPlanet Karting and the other games managed to beat the usual shooters. Could it be that gamers are getting tired of shooting everything that moves or this is just an anomaly? For everyone's sake, I'm hoping it's the former.
