Namco Bandai has posted its earnings report for the fiscal year ending December 31, with the company posting a healthy 71.7% increase in net profits from $177 million to $303 milllion year-over-year.
Overall sales were up 8.4% year-on-year from $3.5 billion to $3.8 billion, which equates to the publisher's 2013 fiscal year revenue to be up by 1.3% to $5 billion. For the full-year profit, Namco Bandai reported an impressive 26.9% increase to come up with $265 million, which is up from last November's projected numbers.
Games software sales accounted for $638 million, while arcade machines (remember those?) accumulated $531 million of the total revenue.
Speaking of games, the big winners for Namco Bandai were Tekken Tag Tournament 2, which snatched up 1.35 million units worldwide within the fiscal year, while Soul Calibur 5 moved 870,000 units to bring its worldwide total to 1.56 million to date.
Q3 sales from games software and arcade units were at $2 billion, which is a 22% improvement for last year where Namco Bandai posted $1.6 billion in sales.
So, expect more Tekken games and the sort in the future, alright?
