The twenty-third installment in the Need For Speed franchise is due to release in two weeks time, and given the recent trend of racing games requiring hefty storage (Gran Turismo Sport requires over 50 GB, and the PC version Forza Motorsport 7 snags up to nearly 100 GB.) you’d think you’d need just as much space for EA’s Need For Speed Payback – if not close to it.
Well, we have some good news for you, Microsoft has updated the store page with the file size of the game, which is sitting at a surprisingly modest 17.81 GB. It’s surprisingly small considering the game is running in HD with an open-world story mode featuring voice actors.
While the PC/ PS4 file size hasn’t been revealed as of yet, I’m sure we can expect something along the same lines at 17.81 GB. Currently, the PC minimum requirements state that players will need 30GB of free space, but that is likely a placeholder for now.
Set in the underworld of Fortune Valley, players will drive as three distinct characters reunited by a quest for vengeance against The House, a nefarious cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals and cops. They will take on a variety of challenges and events as Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman to earn the respect of the underground. Featuring the deepest customization from the series, players can truly craft a personalized and unique ride, or spend hours finding and tuning an abandoned derelict into a supercar. They can then push their cars to the limit and raise the stakes by betting on their own performance, where they can either multiply their winnings or risk losing it all.
Need for Speed Payback is set to release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10th.
