Valve is unafraid with the recent hacking of the PS3 root key. They say it will not deter them from releasing Portal 2 or any other games for the console. Unlike with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2, Valve is confident Portal 2 will not be hacked in the same way. Given that Portal 2 will have to go through Steam that does lend credence because there will be an extra level of security and this one isn't hardware based. Plus, Valve's record of dealing with hackers and cheaters on the PC lends even more credibility to the claim. Portal 2 writer Chet Faliszek said, "We'll be fine… Bad for [Sony]. I mean, you know, no-one likes to see that but we have no concern, we're not worried about it for Portal being on the PS3."
Portal 2 moves ahead as scheduled on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 April 18th.
