One of the biggest surprises at last year's Gamescom was the announcement of Media Molecule's new game Tearaway. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first venture of the studio that's not associated with LittleBigPlanet in any way.
If you're unfamiliar with the game, it's a third-person adventure game that stars Iota, a messenger on a mission. What's unique about Tearaway aside from its odd aesthetics is that it utilizes almost all of the PS Vita's features in some way. You can use the PS Vita's camera to take pictures in the game, use the reach touch panel to push their fingers up through the game's landscape to interact with enemies and the environment itself and a lot more.
Watch the video below to see how charming Tearaway is and to see some of the unique ways it will let players interact with the game.
In VG247's preview, they reveal that the ultimate goal of the game is unlocking a personalized message that's individual to each player. What's more, a new playable character has been announced, too. Known as Atoi, the character is a more feminine incarnation of Iota, though we're unsure how she will play differently from the main protagonist.
If Media Molecule can pull of Tearaway like they did with LittleBigPlanet, then PlayStation Vita owners might be in a for a treat when the game ships later this year.
