Insomniac Games' first game under EA's "Partners" program is getting a slight delay. This was revealed during EA's investors call last night and was reiterated by Insomniac via their official Twitter.
Originally called Overstrike before being renamed Fuse, Insomniac is taking its own stab at a third-person military shooter but with added sci-fi elements.
Fuse was originally scheduled to ship in March, but today, Insomniac's official Twitter tweeted the following:
The news is true, Fuse is now coming in Q2 (Apr-Jun). It's not a big delay from March, and its more polish time for us to make a better game.
We have TONS of new Fuse stuff coming starting next week. Keep an eye on our twitter and Facebook.
For Insomniac fans, this is certainly bad news, but at least the delay isn't that long, right? And it's not like March is dry when it comes to gaming content, either. There's Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider reboot, God of War: Ascension and Gears of War: Judgment all being released in just the month.
Do you think Fuse can stand out from the tons of shooters already out in the market or will Insomniac's first game not exclusive to Sony platforms be in a dire predicament already just from the genre they chose?
You can see how Fuse plays in this trailer called "Dalton's Rules."
