Bayonetta and GTA: Vice City Will Make PSN Their New Homes Next Week

January 25, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

The PlayStation Network is where old games go to be rediscovered. Or re-purchased, to be more precise.

Next week, on January 29 to be exact, some of the best that both Platinum Games and Rockstar Games has to offer will be available on the PlayStation Network: Bayonetta and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

The first was Platinum's very first release for the PS3 (plus Xbox 360), and even to this day, it still represents the new gold standard that all beat'em ups must aspire to. And the second is widely considered the best of the three flavors of Grand Theft Auto 3 for the PS2.

In the case of Vice City, if you didn't bother to nab the recently released iOS/Android port (or avoided it because of the touchscreen controls), and have yet to experience the heady mix of GTA/Miami/the 80s, then you're in for a real treat.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Bayonetta; as Joystiq reminds up all, the super version was indeed on the Xbox 360. Whereas the PS3 iteration suffered from insufferably long load times, framerate issues, and wonky textures.

Even though the game was patched, and a digital version should theoretically have zero need for elongated load times, the PS3 version of Bayonetta should be avoided, unless one does not own a Xbox 360.

Bayonetta will cost $20, and Vice City will be $10.
