Middle Earth: Shadow of War has been subject to quite a bit of criticism since it’s gameplay reveal this year – some of which has been attributed to the scope of content the game is promising and how effectively it will actually be introduced.
Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, Monolith’s vp creative, Michael de Plater, stated that while the games is 3 times larger in scope, a huge aspect of the content in the sequel is the relationship Talion has with the Uruks in the nemesis system.
“That’s really been the primary focus for us over the past three years,” he said. “Just generally improving the number, the quality and the emotional power of the stories we create. Making you really love to hate these enemies. There’s four times the content around making these enemies varied with different personalities and bringing these villains to life.”
While it all sounds very exciting, I just hope the game ends up being as slick and smooth as the original. I’d much rather have a solid function game than just a bunch of content.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War launches next week. It will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
