New Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon Video Showcases Multiplayer Mode

January 24, 2013 by Holly Green

Up to four players will seek out the Scarescraper in this new gameplay feature.

Surprise sequel to the Gamecube original Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon brings our perpetual underdog of the Mario series onto the 3DS, and with it, a new multiplayer mode. Revealed in a bit more detail in this new footage from Nintendo, it appears that the multiplayer mode will consist of four online players, all as Luigi but in different colors, will come together in the ScareScraper and take him down as a team in Hunt Mode. You can get an impression of what that will be like in the video above.

In the gallery below you can check out some newly released screen shots, which will show you how the 3DS' second screen is used in multiplayer gameplay.

Previously expected as a 3DS launch title, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is now expected on March 24 both retail and digitally.
