Divekick Is Headed Towards The PlayStation 3 And PlayStation Vita

January 24, 2013 by Matt Hawkins

You dive and you kick. What else do you need? Exactly.

Divekick started out as a joke, somewhat. It's a fighting game that basically strips everything away except for the two things that everyone loves to do, or so it is argued. And that's diving and kicking.

It's the brainchild of Shoryuken.com editor-in-chief Adam Heart and was developed for last year's Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament. Because of the popularity of the YouTube trailer, Heart decided to use Kickstarter to help fully realize the game and release it to the public at large.

The fund-raising drive was super successful, yet Heart pulled the plug when Iron Galaxy Studios stepped up to the plate, to offer developmental assistance. The studio is best known for crafting the excellent XBL and PSN versions of Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike.

And, it has just been revealed, via Polygon, that Divekick is headed for the PS3 and Vita. Both recently announced versions, alongside the still in development PC iteration, are all due in the spring. The following is the trailer that got the internet all excited in the first place:
