If you're a diehard Dead Space fan who also happens to be in France (and there has to be at least a few out there that fits both criteria), save the date: February 7th.
And remember this location also: the Dernier Bar Avant la Fin du Monde in Paris. Why? Because, as Kotaku reports, that's where EA and Geek-Art are putting a show to promote Dead Space 3.
The show, which runs till March 7, features a number of fine artists, all providing their take on the franchise. The piece you see above is by Benjamin Guy from Australia. A Google search will reveal that he his style is kids wearing gigantic masks, all representing a wide spectrum of pop culture.
Though if you can't attend, no worries; Geek-Art will have reproductions for sale online as well.
This has actually become a trend in recent years. Major publishers, including Square-Enix and Ubisoft have organized similar art shows, to help promote an upcoming high profile game.
Some are irked by such blatant cashing in on the world of video game inspired fine arts. Perhaps justifiably so. But it's also a great chance for talents that would otherwise not be exposed to make a decent payday, which is not such a band thing.
Especially if they're tapping into [insert name of your favorite game here].
