If you're one of the few still left who love JRPGs instead of Western-developed ones, then chances are Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is high up on your purchases this year.
To make sure you know it's already out, Namco Bandai has released the launch trailer for the game and does it look gorgeous.
Developed by Level-5 (White Knight Chronicles, Dark Cloud), animated by Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke) and music scored by Joe Hisashi; this dream collaboration has been turning heads since its release in Japan last year. Now that it's out in the U.S., it has not disappointed RPG fans so far and is now currently averaging a healthy 87 on Metacritic
Just give the trailer a watch and you'll know what I mean.
While I was a big fan of JRPGs growing up, for some reason, the genre passed me on by. Now I don't get excited for Final Fantasy news like before. But Ni No Kuni might just be what brings me back. Just watching the trailer reminds me of what I loved about the genre in the first place. Yes, you have your typical "ordinary boy that's out to save the world, and he must band up with odd individuals" and all that, but there's just something in it that separates it from the rest of the pack.
Are you still a fan of JRPGs? If not, do you think Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will convert you?
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is available now exclusively on the PS3.
