Nintendo has released a new trailer for LEGO City: Undercover, demonstrating more of that humour that is so characteristic of Lego games. It starts off with a snarky lady responding to the question, “And what brings you to Lego City, young lady?” with, “Uh, this boat?” but there's also plenty of physical comedy including: flying by holding onto the legs of a chicken, riding on a wrecking ball to destroy furniture for bricks, and shooting pigs from a cannon.
We also get to see some of what we'll be able to do in this game that looks a lot like a Grand Theft Auto for kids. We'll be able to drive motorboats, bikes, helicopters, horses, and cars both regular and remote-controlled. We'll be able to rescue people from burning buildings and put out fires as a fireman. And we'll be able to beat up criminals as the rugged police officer Chase McCain, who I'm hoping is a bit of a statement on the typical video game protagonist, since he manages to pull off that “white man with dark hair and a bit of stubble” look despite being made of plastic.
LEGO City: Undercover is due to launch on March 18th, but it's already on my wish list. Is it on yours?
