Bizarre Creations, the Liverpool based studio responsible for the Project Gotham racing franchise and Geometry Wars and most recently Blur, has been recommended to be shut down. Activison came to this decision after they failed to find a buyer. Activison Worldwide Studios' COO Cody Johnson said he wanted to keep the team together and that's why they tried so hard to find an interested buyer, exploring a lot of leads.
But unfortunately, so far we’ve not been able to find and interested parties. So we’ve made as a last resort, a recommendation to the team for closure.
The studio is set to close taking with it 200 jobs. At the moment the studio is "under 90 day consolation period" as per UK law.
