Valve announced yesterday that its “Steam Guides” service, which has been in open beta since midway through last month, is now available for all users of the Steam platform. These guides are created by players and then shared through Steam for others to use when playing through a particularly tough bit of a game, or when they just want some tips.
If you want to find a guide for a game you're playing through Steam, you can either look in-game through the Steam Overlay, click the “Community Hub” button on the game's Steam page, or just head to the Steam Guides page to see them all in one place. The Steam Guides page has examples of some “top-rated” guides, including one for Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 that explains how to unlock bonus foil cards, and a very in-depth look at various tactics for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead.
If you want to create your own guide for a particular Steam game, head over to the website and give it a go. You can use images, screenshots, and YouTube videos to make it more comprehensive and hopefully help out a few fellow players.
Anyone used one of these guides yet? Or made their own?
