New Details And Artwork Released For Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

January 14, 2013 by Holly Green

Get a revealing glimpse at the new starter Pokémon and some stats on the Legendary.

With the next generation of Pokémon announced and on its way, it's time to start busting out the deets on the new starter Pokemon headed to this next iteration in the series. Today we have brand spanking new artwork for each of the three newcomers, Grass-type Pokémon Chespin, Fire-type Pokémon Fennekin, and Water-type Pokémon Froakie. In the gallery below you'll find official portraits, two new in-game screen shots for each character, and a handy chart illustrating their effectiveness against one another in battle. The screen shots should provide you a glimpse at the updated graphics and visuals coming to the games and give you an idea of the all new look will bring to the table upon the duo's release.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, announced last week in the first Nintendo Direct of the year, will launch simultaneously across the globe (a series first) this upcoming November on the Nintendo 3DS.

Also released today were stats on the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal, if you're into that sort of thing. Xerneas is 9’10” tall and weighs in at 474.0 lbs. Yveltal is 19’00” tall and tips the scales at 447.5 lbs.
