‘Akaneiro: Demon Hunters’ Open Beta Begins

January 9, 2013 by Holly Green

Help the Spicy Horse folks test the server load in anticipation of release.

The open beta on the latest project from Alice creator American McGee is now available, letting would-be fans ake an early look at the upcoming title. Based on the classic Red Riding Hood story, this browser based action-RPG sees the players taking on monsters on the feudal Japanese countryside, all in a free to play multiplayer environment. This particular round of beta testing focuses on testing the server infrastructure to make sure they can handle the upcoming load. To get sign up, visit their official site.

In other Akaneiro news, they've just revealed two new areas, The Temple Road and Ghostclaw Caverns, featured in the upcoming game, photos of which you can see above and below. The Kickstarter campaign has also recently met about 1/4 of its funding goal, amassing $50,860 of the desired $200,000 in six days. There's a variety of enviable bonuses for backers, from in-game exclusive items to the official soundtrack and digital artbook, so head over now to plunk down some cash in support.
