Finalists For 15th Annual Independent Games Festival Awards Announced

Hotline Miami and FTL: Faster Than Light up for top honors.

The list of finalists for the fifteenth annual Independent Games Festival has been unveiled, revealing the 30 games (whittled down from 200 by a panel of judges) that will be up for honors on March 27 in San Francisco during GDC 2013. Among them are some of this year's fan favorites, including FTL: Faster Than Light for Excellence In Design, Hotline Miami for Excellence In Audio, and Guacalamelee for Excellence In Visual Art.

All finalists are offered the chance for distribution via Steam, and those nominated for Seumas McNally Grand Prize
 are competing for a $30,000 top prize. The full list of finalists in each of their categories is as follows:

Excellence In Visual Art


  • Incredipede (Northway Games and Thomas Shahan)

  • Kentucky Route Zero (Cardboard Computer)

  • Guacalamelee! (Drinkbox Studios)

  • Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (Asteroid Base)

  • Year Walk (Simogo)
