Don't expect Prophet and his Nanosuit armor to show up on the Wii U anytime soon, as Crysis 3 won't be ported to the Wii U.
This fact was revealed by Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli in an interview with DigitalSpy. According to Yerli, he wanted to port Crysis 3 on the Wii U, but due to a lack of "business drive" between EA and Nintendo, it's not happening.
There has been discussions between Nintendo and EA and Crytek, but the bottom line is that there is that there's not enough business drive in it.
It's a business decision between EA and Nintendo. If that business decision doesn't make sense, or seems to not make sense for them, it's… not possible for us to make it. We can't publish ourselves, and that's the bottom line.
Well, there you have it. Even if Yerli claims Crysis 3 is "maxing" out current-gen consoles, it still won't appear on the first next-gen unit out the door. So if you want to play Prophet's latest shoot-fest, you better have a beefy PC rig, or own a PS3 or an Xbox 360.
Does this sit right with you or should EA release the game on as many platforms as possible? Should EA at least try and release a Crysis game on the Wii U before passing judgement or are core shooter games just not suitable for the Wii U's demographic?
Crysis 3 is set for a February 19 release for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
