Bizarre Creations was not the most famous or revered studio during its time, though it did have their dedicated fans. And a good deal of that loyalty came from their racing games. Though for whatever reason, their last title, the online arcade racer known as Blur, was a financial flop, despite a very strong response from critics.
Not long after, the studio was dissolved by parent company Activision, leaving fans of the aforementioned title to wonder what could have been if the game had a more positive response.
Well, just revealed by Chris Davie, the former art director for the studio, and on his Tumblr, is a game that looks very much like Blur. As Destructoid notes, while it's never specifically stated, it does look an awful like a sequel.
There are two videos, and both are supremely impressive. The first is the Brighton level from Blur, but with some brand new visual effects tossed into the mix. A few gameplay elements have also been tinkered around with.
And the second clip takes place in Dubai and shows the game running of running off a brand new engine that had been built. According to Davie:
"When we were told the project was being canned and that the studio was facing closer, I bloody mindedly decided to keep working on the art on this track, so much work had gone into the game already, it seemed a shame that nobody would get to play a finished track, even the dev team, so my goal was to get this Dubai track as close to final as I could before the lights went out for good."
