Just before 2012 ended, we posted details on Black Ops 2's upcoming "Revolution" map pack leak. Well, now it seems, those details are indeed legit.
While Activision hasn't confirmed Revolution yet, its mobile site for Call of Duty accidentally outed the official name and a few images, too.
Here's one of the images that from the now-pulled mobile site (via CharlieIntel):
As you can plainly see, it confirms the leaked release date of January 29. Of course, this is just for the Xbox 360, but assuming Treyarch follows Call of Duty's release pattern for other platforms, expect the PS3 and PC versions to drop a month after Revolution hits the Xbox 360.
So, just what will Call of Duty Season Pass holders and those willing to shell out 1200 Microsoft Points or $15 in real-world currency will get? Assuming the other details are legit — and I think they are — four new maps, a zombie map and even a weapon DLC, too,
Here's a brief outline what Black Ops 2 players should expect from Revolution:
Multiplayer Maps:
-
Hydro
-
Downhill
-
Mirage
-
Grind
Zombie Map:
Die Rise
Weapon:
Peacekeeper SMG
While new maps are a given, what's noteworthy here is that Treyarch seems to be planning the first-ever weapon DLC in Call of Duty history. Hopefully it won't mess up with the game's balance that much; but even if it does, they can just patch it up.
So, now that Revolution is semi-official and we know it's legit, are you excited for it or would you want Treyarch to fix the game's list of bugs and issues first before giving them more money?
