A new update for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft is on its way. The team is calling it the “very nearly 1.0.1” update, because it “will mainly have the features from the Java version 1.0.1, but without “The End””, which is apparently coming soon. Despite missing “The End”, the update will have a load of extra features, including:
Animal Breeding – feed two of the same animals a particular food and they’ll “kiss” and like magic a little baby animal will appear. Cute!
Brewing – You’ll be able to make Potions! Pull up a Brewing Stand and experiment.
Experience Points – Now you can collect Experience Orbs from mining, killing mobs, breeding and using Furnaces. Experience is used for Enchanting!
Enchanting – A new process which uses your Experience points to grant special abilities to armour, tools and weapons. You’ll need to craft yourself an Enchantment table to get started.
As well as this new update, Minecraft XBLA is also getting a new piece of DLC called the “Festive Skin Pack”, which includes a whole bunch of Christmas-themed items including: Santa, Mrs Claus, Rudolph, Snowman, Christmas Tree, Zombie Turkey. The pack will be available to download from Wednesday for 80 Microsoft Points.
