Earlier in the month, Crytek announced "The 7 Wonders of Crysis 3" web series which will be directed by filmmaker Albert Hughes (The Book of Eli). Not only will it give insight into the game's enemies, weapons and setting, but it will even highlight the technology powering Crysis 3.
In the first episode called "Hell of a Town," the trailer focuses on the game's protagonist Prophet and the story that builds up to Crysis 3. Watch as he tears through the CELL operatives with the use of his Nanosuit where he uses its cloaking, armor and other abilities to great effect.
What's noteworthy here is how Hughes aims to create a web series entirely made out of CryENGINE 3. In some shots, it looks like your typical action-packed trailer, but Hughes must be doing something right, as I didn't feel disinterested at all in the entire episode.
Stay tuned for future episodes which will culminate in Crysis 3's launch on February 19, 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
