Hawken Enters Open Beta, Gets a Pretty Launch Trailer

December 12, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

The developers of Hawken have announced the open beta for the game with the release of a new trailer.

Hawken

Adhesive Games has released a new trailer of Hawken to announce the game's transition into open beta on December 12. That's today. Open beta is available to everyone worldwide, except for China, and presumably North Korea, because no one likes those countries. You can sign up for it here.

Instead of using in-game graphics, the cinematic trailer is done entirely in CGI and portrays the game as it's supposed to look.

Not to be confused with the MechWarrior series of games, Hawken plays like much more of a first person shooter rather than a slower, bulkier mech simulation. The game consists of multiple competitive modes, including free-for-all, team deathmatch, and a "siege" mode.

There's no release date for the game yet, and we don't expect the developers to announce one until the open beta is over. It's expected to run for awhile.
