While "Phantom Pain" was the big news out of this year's VGAs, people might forget that there's another Metal Gear game that's set for release soon and there's nothing cryptic about it.
In this latest trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance released by Konami, we get to see Raiden go up against a "Mastiff." If I'm not mistaken, this enemy is a sub-boss of some sort, or he's just a pain in the ass to take down. In the trailer itself, the player drops down to 11% health before ultimately disposing of this mechanized hulk.
Aside from that, we get to see how the game's menu system works, as well as its customization. Want to see Raiden wear a sombrero and a serape? Yeah, you read that right. Raiden is wearing Mexian garb and this looks like just one of the many outfits he can don in the game.
While Revengeance might not be your typical Metal Gear game, there are still a few bits and pieces in it that should remind fans where the game's based from. Of note, Snake's familiar cardboard box is back and Raiden uses it to good effect, too.
Can Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance win out against Capcom's DmC for action game of the year in 2013? We'll know for sure once the game's out in February for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
