A new update for the PS3 version of Black Ops 2 has just gone live on the PlayStation Network. Simply logging into the game will allow you to automatically download the patch, which brings the game up to version 1.04.
Since its launch, the PS3 version of Black Ops 2 has faced numerous issues ranging from connectivity problems in multiplayer to random crashes in both single and multiplayer portions of the game. The new patch aims to fix some of these issues, namely by fixing the "Awaiting Textures" hang that happens on loading maps on occasion.
Other issues addressed by the patch include stability for the Theater and Live Streaming modes, fixes to various exploits, and a whole bunch of gameplay balances.
There's no word on whether the new patch fixes the random crashes that players have been experiencing since launch, but it's surely a move in the right direction for the game.
The full list of fixes can be found at the game's official forums here.
Aside from the PS3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is also available on the PC and Xbox 360, where it enjoys better stability than its PS3 counterpart. It's a shame to say so, but it's true.
