Last week saw the arrival of Mass Effect 3: Omega, and to many it was a flat out disappointment. Which might be why the game's publisher is already hard at work with the latest bit of DLC and why so many proven talents from Mass Effect 3 have been brought back.
According to Eurogamer, it's being developed by BioWare Edmonton, by the same team that helped to create the original Mass Effect trilogy. Whereas the aforementioned Omega was the handiwork of BioWare Montreal, which might account for the disparity in quality and other regards.
Though they're also the ones who will be doing Mass Effect 4, so it's not like they were completely unqualified for the task given to them.
The new, currently untitled expansion will feature a writing team that's eight person strong, and will include core members of the Mass Effect 3 staff, including lead writer Mac Walters. BioWare designer Jos Hendriks states: "It's all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every Mass Effect 3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved."
Mass Effect 3's primary composer, Sam Hulick, will also be returning, who was not part of either Leviathan (the previous DLC drop) and Omega. He had this to say on Twitter: "What I'm up to lately: working on an unannounced Mass Effect 3 DLC!"
BioWare producer and voice director Caroline Livingstone also used Twitter to thank Seth Green for his latest voice session, which means that he's also coming back to reprise his role as the voice of Joker, the pilot of the Normandy.
