While some people were peeved at Irrational Games' choice of cover art for BioShock Infiinite, that one looks like a masterpiece compared to the boxart Capcom is using for its upcoming Devil May Cry reboot "DmC."
For DmC's cover art, Capcom has oddly chosen just to portray the new-look Dante wielding Ebony & Ivory while trying to strike a pose. I said "try" since I have no idea if he's supposed to look menacing, be dancing, running or whatnot. Also of note is that aside from the red streak, there's no background art whatsoever.
Don't believe me? Give the art a look for yourself (via NeoGAF):
The cover is quite a contrast compared to the new Dante and how Ninja Theory's been making him out to be, no?
In related news, while the Japanese special edition version of DmC will net players an exclusive Ebony & Ivory necklace, Western fans will have to "settle" for Dante's necklace along with the DmC "Samurai Pack" in the "Son of Sparda" DmC Special Edition. The Samurai digital pack will transform Dante's shotgun, scythe and axe into "samurai devastators," and players will also free upgrade points to instantly upgrade weapons, combos or items once they start the game.
Fans curious to find out how the DmC reboot plays can try the demo on Xbox LIVE and on the PSN now. For those interested, we've also covered the list of Achievements/Trophies that will be in the final game, but be warned though, there are tons of spoilers within.
DmC is set for a January 12, 2013 release for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
