The retail version of The Walking Dead: The Game will be available from retailers in North America on December 11th, allowing North American customers to purchase a disc copy of Telltale Games' hit title for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, or (only at Best Buy) PC. The disc will include all five episodes of the game for a recommended retail price of $29.99, which is obviously more expensive than buying them all digitally but that's a given.
The Walking Dead has been nominated for Game of the Year, and with good reason. If you haven't played it yet, it really is worth a look. If you're already a fan, Telltale Games is also providing a Collector's Edition, which includes “an exclusive edition of The Walking Dead Compendium One: over 1,000 pages of Robert Kirkman's original book, collecting the first 48 issues of Rick Grimes' story”. The Collector's Edition has a recommended retail price of $69.99, and there are only a few days left if you want to pre-order it.
For those of you outside of North America, we're told disc-based retail versions of the game will be announced “soon”. If you haven't already played The Walking Dead, does the chance to pick it up in a shop tempt you? If you have, are you willing to pay again just to have a copy on disc?
