Microsoft has been hard at work to revive games from the Xbox 360 era, bringing the fun from older titles such as Halo 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 back into the land of modern gaming.
Microsoft has announced that 6 new games will be added into the repository of backwards compatibility gaming. The games don’t have a specific release date but should come out shortly.
Check out the games below:
New additions
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
- Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3
- Radiant Silvergun
- Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII
- Cyber Troopers Virtual-On OT
If you happen to already own these titles, they should pop up on your library of owned games, otherwise give the store a search and you’ll find them.
Tired of the continuous stream of backwards compatibility titles but no new original triple-A games? You aren’t the only one, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg was featured in a recent interview with GamerTagRadio, where he commented on the public’s criticism of the absence of any blockbuster AAA exclusive titles. Here’s what he had to say:
We felt like we showed a lot of great AAA games. It’s tough because if you show too many AAA games, people are gonna be like ‘oh man, all you’re showing us are big blockbusters, we want to see more variety and diversity’. We just showed everything. But with that said, largely what we showed was games that are going to launch between now and E3 next year.
Take our first party stuff. Forza will be out, Crackdown will be out, Sea of Thieves, Super Lucky’s Tale, State of Decay 2, all will be launching before E3 next year. So we showed you big blockbuster exclusives that you will be able to play over the next year, in addition to Assassin’s Creed this holiday, in addition to a great variety of all those great indie titles that are coming out- like Cuphead. And that’s an exclusive.
