The PlayStation Network will be offline in the UK for scheduled maintenance tonight (December 3rd), from 4pm GMT to 1am tomorrow (December 4th) morning. During that time, PS3 and PSP owners will be unable to access the PlayStation Store, Network Account Management, or Network Account Registration.
Though the maintenance was planned, the inaccessibility of the store may cause issues for PlayStation 3 owners in particular, since the second deal of PlayStation's “12 Deals of Christmas” is only available for two days ending at 11:59pm on the 4th of December. Players who want to take advantage of the temporary deal price of Battlefield 3 on the PlayStation store – £29.99 down from £59.99 – will have to keep the store downtime in mind, though it's likely the game can be found cheaper elsewhere so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
The good news is that while the PlayStation Network is offline, players will still be able to collect trophies, which will then be added to their profiles when the maintenance is over.
Are you inconvenienced by this scheduled maintenance? Did you have plans to take advantage of the 12 Days of Christmas deal for Battlefield 3, or do you think that only a fool would bother to buy a digital copy of the game for £30?
