PlayStation Plus EU Members to Get Arkham City, Mortal Kombat and More for Free in December

November 28, 2012 by Alex Co

PlayStation Europe is once again bringing it for PS+ members…

If you're a U.S. PlayStation Plus member, you might not know that you're getting the short end of the stick when compared to EU members. In this month alone, EU PS+ members got Crysis 2 for "free," and it seems December won't be any different.

In an update on the official EU PlayStation Blog, PS Store and Plus Content Manager of SCEE Chris Howe revealed the lsit of games that will be available for EU PS+ members in December and it's a fantastic list yet again.

First off, Rocksteady's opus, Batman: Arkham City, will be EU PS+ members' big free game for December. To complement that is SEGA and Platinum Games' underrated shooter Vanquish, and even PS Vita is getting a treat, too, with Mortal Kombat being the big freebie for the upcoming month.

Of course, on par with Sony's premium service, they will be taking games out to make way for the new ones. So if you still haven't downloaded Crysis 2 yet, I suggest having it in your download list so you can download and play it even if they yank it — provided you're still a PS+ member, of course.

Here's the complete list of added games for December, as well as the ones Sony will be pulling out.

PlayStation Plus December content:

  • 5th December: Batman: Arkham City (PS3)

  • 5th December: LIMBO (PS3)

  • 5th December: Vanquish (PS3)

  • 12th December: Big Sky Infinity (PS Vita and PS3)

  • 19th December: Mortal Kombat (PS Vita)

  • 21st December: Knytt Underground (PS Vita and PS3)

  • Additional offers and savings TBC

Titles removed from IGC:

  • 5th December: Crysis 2 (PS3)

  • 5th December: Scott Pilgrim vs The World (PS3)

  • 5th December: Double Dragon Neon (PS3)

  • 19th December: Chronovolt (PS Vita)

  • 21st December: Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (PS Vita)

Well, there you have it. Hopefully, the U.S. PlayStation Plus service will finally catch up or at least try to compete against its EU counterpart, no? It's even gotten to the point that I'm seriously considering cancelling my U.S. PS+ membership and just signing up for an EU one.

Any PS+ U.S. members here peeved by the service's disparity? What do you want to see free in December for U.S. PS+ members?
