Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes (a.k.a Team Meat, the creators of Super Meat Boy) have revealed the final character teaser for their upcoming game, Mew-Genics. The accompanying blog post describes Butch's character and tells us what will be teased next, now that all five of the silhouettes in the initial teaser image have been revealed:
He's into some shady stuff… nothing he does is legal and if he has it his way nothing you will do will be legal either. i wonder how he got all those scratches….
Butch is the final character teaser, from here on out we will start teasing aspects of game design, music, the games many features and its release platforms 🙂
Butch joins Mr. Tinkles, Dr. Beanies, Frank (who “has head problems”), and Tracy (who “likes cats… but isn't a big fan of you”).
Since we don't know very much at all about what Mew-Genics is all about, besides “cats… kinda”, or even what genre the game will fall into, we're left to speculate on what kind of role Butch will play. But judging from the mask, the alleyway in which he appears to be standing, and the paw print on his tee shirt, I'd say he's a cat burglar.
