If you grew up in the nineties, you probably played Bubsy at one point. Accolade’s colourful 2D platformer simultaneously delighted and enraged players with its one-hit deaths, super cool gliding abilities and cheesy levels. Now, after more than 20 years since Bubsy 3D, Accolade are bouncing back with indie studio Black Forest Games, and bring forth a completely reimagined Bubsy game called Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back!. The ‘woolies’ are the enemies in the game, fabric-nabbing aliens with noodle hair and protruding stomachs. Weird, but iconic.
In The Woolies Strike Back! Bubsy’s taking over from Jason and is hunting down the legendary Golden Fleece. Bubsy’s equipped with all his classic moves and then some, which he needs to use to battle woolies and UFO bosses. And of course, the game’s been outfitted with 100+ new witty one liners for an extra dose of charm.
